okay so let's be honest... (part XIV)

I say "brothers and sisters our brother Jesus has real hands, and He has real feet
Real skin and bones
And real nails went through real wood, and through our Brother's wrists and feet
And He experienced real pain.
And His bloody body cries out to us still…”

Above the den the father cries out,
"You go to church every Sunday, and you read your Bible,
But the body of my Son is broken.
You memorize chapter and verse and honor all your traditions,
But the body of my Son is broken.
You recite the creed the defend the orthodox
But the body of my Son is broken.
You hark back the tradition and press forward toward renewal
But the body of my Son is broken.
You argue about what style of worship to use and how long it should be, and what types of classes we should offer
But the body of my Son is broken"

you just don't get it…
you just don't get it…
do you get it?
do you get it?

If you meditate on the crucified Christ, it will shatter your illusions of what it means to follow Christ
