Jesus said to come like little children
So many things Jesus said during the Sermon on the Mount point us to become like little children
He said, "If you don't become like this little child, you will never enter the kingdom of God"
There is a joy in kids that we all see
There's a carefree genuine spirit that we all long for
But few have the guts to risk it
Very few have the guts to risk living like a child
Brennan Manning said, "Heaven will be filled with 5-year olds"
I say, "What are you holding onto? Give it up."
What good would it do if you gained the whole world yet forfeit your soul?
Audio Adrenaline says, "to live your life, you've got to lose it, and all the losers get a crown"
All the losers get a crown
That goes contrary to everything we hear all around us
You wanna be great, be a servant
You wanna be great, be last
You wanna be great; don't care about what other people think
Don't care about being in the spotlight
You wanna be great, be invisible, be nothing
Sometimes we sorta put what we do above what Jesus did
And that's stupid
Jesus throws everything off balance
Everything
He calls us to lose our identity and to take on His
And that's why Paul could say, " I am crucified with Christ, and I no longer live but Christ lives in me"
I no longer live
But Christ lives in me
No more lies
No more reputation to uphold
No pride, nothing to be proud of
When you live the crucified life, nothing will insult you
Because there's nothing left to insult

thanks man! it's good to see that someone (besides me) reads this blog... haha! glad you picked up on the usage of scripture. this one does have a lot of scripture in it. originally i left the little passage references in it. but then i thought that sometimes people skip over words if they think it's a verse. so why not blend them in there?
