A lot of times we get this misconception that God is out to get us
God isn't out to get ya
There's an old song called the "The Happy Song"
It talks about being filled with joy because God is for us
And God just isn't for us, the people who claim to follow Christ
He's for everybody
He didn't just die for us
He died for everyone
He died for every man who has ever walked the earth
That’s a really hard one to grasp
It’s really easy to compartmentalize who is “in” and who is “out”
Especially when you start thinking about terrorists, rapists, child molesters, & politicians
We like to think that God loves “Christians” more than He does the “non-Christians”
But He simply doesn't, He loves us all equally
Jesus' sacrifice is for everyone
That's basically the "good news"
The gospel of grace that God is for us and not against us
No matter what you've done, or what you are going to do
He's still for you
It's by grace you have been saved
Do you believe that?
It's by grace you have been saved, and not by works so that no one can boast
When we get to heaven we're not gonna be boasting to God
We won’t be saying, I did this, this and this.
That’s ridiculous.
I think that a lot of times we pay lip service to Jesus
We think that if we do certain things, than we somehow earn a ticket to heaven
We miss the point that we're only saved by His grace
I mean, sure, Christians are called to live a certain way and do certain things
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that we are saved
Only grace can save us
