and justice for all.

do you ever feel like you aren't doing enough for the good of mankind? well if you are actually reading this blog, the truth is you should probably be doing something better. haha. i often find myself wondering what I am really supposed to be doing with my life. surely I wasn't meant to sit on my butt and watch t.v. lately, injustice has been on my mind. this world we live on has a ton of unjust empires. as americans, most of what we do is based of of some unjust empire. our clothing, our food, shoot even the land on which we live was taken unjustly. but frankly what am I to do? where do I begin? I'm just one dude who likes to watch "the office" and listen to his iPod. I cut the grass at my house and when I'm done i feel accomplished because I've done "something". but it just grows back. everything just grows back. it's kind of like a hamster wheel. we live one day, to live the next. when was the last time I made a difference? like a lasting difference, that didn't get undone a few weeks down the road? what about you?

i've been reading a book (who would have thought?). it's called "Justice in the Burbs" by Will and Lisa Samson. my future sister-in-law, Nicole, is letting me borrow it. at the end of each chapter there is a meditation. one was written by Brian McLaren. at the end of his meditation he writes what is called "The Justice Creed". i've conveniently posted at the "it isn't about us" blog. do yourself a favor and check it out...
