so since last summer i've been reading and researching about being more eco-friendly. i've started a compost pile, a garden, the beginnings of a recycling center, as well as changed most of the lightbulbs in our house to CFLs. it's all about the small steps... i could do a lot more, and i feel like once I am in my "own" house I will do more... there are still a ton of things i'd like to do...
anyway... last year I came across a TV channel (Discovery Home) that had an "eco friendly" night of programming. So I literally watched all of the episodes that I could until had watched every episode of every show...
So this brings me to the point of this blog...
A couple of months ago I heard that Discovery Home decided that their eco-friendly night was a smart thing and that they decided to start to make the whole channel eco-friendly. The launch of "Planet Green" was tonight. It was amazing. And surprisingly Celebrity packed...
My favorite show so far is probably "Stuff Happens" hosted by Bill Nye (the Science Guy)...
Supper Club (a celebrity dinner/discussion show) hosted by Tom Bergeron (of Dancing with the Stars/Hollywood Squares fame) was good too...
Wa$ted! is good too... this is actually a remake of a New Zealand show (that i previously watched on Discovery Home). the new host is great too...
Adrian Grenier's (star of Entourage) show was interesting too...
Greenovate is a great eco-friendly version of "Flip this House"...
I am anxiously awaiting the Leonardo DiCaprio produced "Greensburg" where a town that was 95% destroyed by a deadly tornado... Houses, Schools, Businesses, everything gone... anyway they are building it into the first ever Eco-friendly town. ummm did I mention i'm geeked?
Also "living with Ed" (A show I already love following Ed Begley Jr. and wife) is moving from TLC to Planet Green... Bill Nye is their neighbor...
word on the street is that Tom Green will be hosting the first ever "green" game show...
so how do you tell if you are an eco-nerd? You anticipate the launch of a Eco-friendly channel and plan your evening accordingly.
