biased right wing commentary (oscars and books)

so as i was watching the oscars (hailed by some as the gayest oscars to date)... do you know what i hate most about the oscars? acceptance speeches with forced political statements... who wants to listen to a bunch of high school drop outs give their biased left wing opinions about stuff most of them really know nothing about? I don't ask my trash man to sing show tunes... that's not what he's paid to do... when i think of george clooney i want to think about Ocean's Eleven, o brother where art thou? and Batman... not some forced political propaganda he tried to slide in while receiving an award for being ENTERTAINING... (i.e. NOT eductional!!!) if i want education I'll watch pbs or read a book... So George, instead of giving me some line of crap, why don't you go and reenact a scene from one of your bit parts from "the facts of life", "roseanne" or "the golden girls"... that's what I pay you to do... ENTERTAIN ME!!!

back off the soapbox... so i was watching the gayest oscars yet... and i said to myself... i really would rather be reading... now, take into account that I am not a big reader... I read more than say the average joe... but I am by no means a book worm... but when I do want to read I read a lot... I read till my eyes get sore... and my brain gets mushy inside... mmmm pudding....

okay back on track... i was watching attack of the brokeback oscars... got uninterested... wanted to read... so i gazed over to my bookshelf... nothing popped out... all books that i've read and reread... so got on one of my new favorite websites (amazon.com)... and searched for mike yaconelli... (late author of my favorite book Messy Spirituality...)

(note to readers of this blog: GO GET MESSY SPIRITUALITY!!!!)

To make a long story short... one search led to a book which led to a "Customers who bought this also bought" section... which led to 4 different books that i have really been wanting to read... all of which i promptly put in a cart and bought... so hopefully before i leave next saturday on my trip (11th-21st) to Oklahoma and Branson... I will have 4 books in tow... (crosses fingers)

these are the books I bought

"Dangerous Wonder (with Study Guide)"
Mike Yaconelli

"Velvet Elvis : Repainting the Christian Faith"
Rob Bell

"Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality"
Donald Miller

"Searching for God Knows What"
Donald Miller

thanks for enduring my onslaught of biased right wing commentary...
the end
