something deep...

i know i don't talk on here a whole lot about substantial things... but here it goes...

so last night someone mentioned the fact that Jesus ruins lives... and I've had the privilege of seeing it first hand... He really does... If you really get to know him and really do what he says, He'll literally tear apart your life and who you are and turn it inside out... and bottom line, i don't care who you are, that's scary... a friend of mine often uses the phrase "Jesus bothers me"... and he does... if you logically look at the world you can see the work of an artist's hand... you see things so intricately detailed that it has to be by design... you can see in yourself... there's a thing my good friend, C.S. Lewis calls the natural law... the law that everyone from every country, every tribe, every nation knows the difference between good and bad... everyone hurts when they've been wronged... if the world was an accident, then where did good and evil come from? if it wasn't by design by some intelligent being then wouldn't we all be walking around like mindless fools? (there is some argument that we are in fact walking around like mindless fools) but everywhere you look, you see the natural law in progress... you might say, but hey what about the tribes that practice cannibalism? those things are learned... sadly twistedly learned... but if you go to that same tribe and steal another man's belongings, i bet he gets upset about it... if you make that man eye ball soup, i bet he likes you more than before you did that deed for him. He knows the difference between good and evil... Ingrained on the heart and mind of everyone, deep in the marrow of our being there is something that cries out, i wanna be a better person... where did that come from? where did ideas of striving to become better come from? a creator... an artist... songs just don't create themselves... if you dismantle you cell phone, put every little piece in a walmart bag, shake it around, and look inside, you don't find a perfect cell phone... you find fragments of a cell phone... i am not sure the odds of magically making a cell by shaking the pieces in a walmart bag are... but if we started today i doubt it would happen in our lifetime... believe it or not it was designed... believe it or not, our world, the stars in the sky, the air we breathe, the plants on the ground, the rain that waters the plants, the cows that eat the plants, it's all part of an intricate design from an artist's heart... you and i were made... sure it's easy to wrap ourselves up in the junk on this earth, but if you really look deep inside yourself, you find that you know this is true... the proof is all around... none of us wanna admit it, because of the social consequences (it ruins lives), but there is a creator... once you can admit that, you lead yourself to the question of "why?" and that my friends is for another blog...

over and out
